St. George Triathalon!

This last weekend Casey and I drove down to St. George for the long awaited St. George Triathalon! Casey has been training so hard for this, getting up at 5:30 in the mornings to go swim at Mt. Crest, and alternating days with running and spinning! I admire him for his dedication, becuase I sure as hell wouldn't wake up at 5:30 to go swim in a cold pool!! When he does somthing though, he does it 100%! I love this becuase he inspires me to be healthier and work out as well!

The Drive to St. George was pretty short for me, Casey made me a little bed in the back of my Jeep and I slept/watched a movie the whole time! Scooter is always my little shadow, so he did the same, curled into my chest, or at my back looking out the window! We went down last Thursday, and it rained the entire day!! Casey's parents drove down the Day before so we stayed with them in their condo, as soon as we found it, we settled in and they took us to a little "el sol" type mexican restuarant! Casey decided it wasn't the meal he was going to eat before his race! When we got back to the condo, I saw the cutest little snail on the sidewalk, so I bent down and said "how cute is this little snail!" and Casey's like "well what about all the others?" I had failed to notice the other HUGE snails all over the sidewalk, I had only noticed the cute tiny one. Sandy told me how they used to put salt on them so that they would die and I said "no you shouldn't do that! That's so sad!!" Right after I scolded her for doing that I took a step back and CRUNCH!! Yep, I stepped on a poor little snail, after I told Sandy not to kill them... I seriously almost cried, i felt bad for the little snail!

We went inside after that little ordeal and Sandy made us watch "The Roomate", I didn't like it. That girl is crazy and it disturbs me. I'm not into scary movies anyways, so I knew before I watched it I wasn't going to like it! We also sat in the hot tub that night, which was amazing!! We hadn't been in a hot tub forever so it was awesome!!

The next day Casey wanted to try out his wet suit since he hadn't swam in it before, so we drove over to Sand Hallow where his race would be held the next day, and it tried it on and swam out a ways, and decided he liked it! His Grandma Grandpa and Aunt Suzie met us out there to check out the area as well, so we all kind of hung out, put our feet in the water, and chit chatted for a while before decided we were getting pretty hungry! We met Sandy and Brett at their condo and set out for some food! I got some shopping in later with Sandy and Suzie, while the boys probably took a nap, and then later joined the Piggot crew for a pasta meal at The Pasta Factory. Not my favorite, not gonna lie! But the company was great!

Saturday we woke up at 6:30, Casey readied his things, and we set off for Sand Hallow. We got there and the resivour was hopping! Casey loves race environments, and just eats it all up! His family and I found a spot to set up our chairs while Casey got his bike ready, and laid out all the things he would need for his transitions. He first swam, and swam alot farther than he thought he would I think, but still did awesome! He then transitioned on his bike for a 12 mile ride, made it back in pretty good time, and then last he had a 5k. He was really tired by that time, but he did so good, and I'm so proud of him, he reulted in 7th place in his age group and 37th overall!! He's such a stud, I'm glad i'm married to such a fit guy, that loves the competition, and loves to make himself better, which inspires me to be better! Good Job honey! Love you!

After Casey's race we went down the Beaver Dam where my parents were staying with some friends! They started recently going down there once a year to go four-wheeling in the desert. They wanted Casey and I to see what they were up to and where they were, so we went down and my mom took us on a short ride where we saw a ton of Joshua trees, which are way rad looking, and then we went back to the "Shop Bar" where everyone was hanging out! They are a wild bunch, but sure fun to be around! Later we checked out a few cool house their friends had down there with out door kitchens and the likes, way fun stuff!! We then drove 10 miles to Mesquite and I played a little roulette with my dad, we lost it all, Casey and I together have no luck! After losing our dough we went to dinner with my parents and another couple they were hanging out with! They kept offering for us to stay at their houses since it had gotten late, but we opted to drive back to the condo since that was where all our things were, and we wanted to help clean up in the morning. We zonked when we got there!

In the morning Casey let me sleep in a little, we packed our things, cleaned up the condo and set out to find Snow Canyon for a mornign hike! All but 3 trails even allowed dogs, so we had to choose one, and it was short, but it was still fun! We saw a lot of lizards, and the weather was just perfect! The weather was pretty much perfect the whole time aside from that first day! I was sad to leave, and come back to rain. It was such a fun weekend, and I'm so proud of my husband, and it was so fun to spend time with family!!
