Christmas 2010!!

This year for Christmas we got to spend so much time with both sides of the family! I love that both our parents live in Wellsville, so that we don't have to drive far to see them, and even better we can fit both into our plans! Christmas Eve we went over to Casey's parents' house to eat some way yummy Christmas Eve dinner! Sandy made a great prime rib, with baked potatos, and tons of other tasty things. After dinner we decided to let her and Brett open their present that we all got them, which was a freakin cute popcorn machine, themed for movie theater popcorn, to match her decor downstairs of their cute movie room. Although she hinted that this was what she wanted it, she loved it! Unfortunatly Casey's brother Corey had to leave early, becuase he is a new cop, and had to work Christmas Eve. But Casey and I stuck around for a while and played a fun categories game with his parents, Tenielle and Tyler. After that we headed up to my parents' house to eat more food! Every year on Christmas Eve my parents make lots of goodies, like little smokies, tons of shrimp, bean dip, cheese ball, and other yummy treats, and we just play games and hang out. This year we welcomed a new person into our traditions, Jaydale's new fiance Chantry. He hung out with us, and we introduced him to one of our favorite games UNO Attack! I love love love chirstmas so much, for the fact that we get to spend it with family, playing games, and eating great food. Although I see my family a ton, because we are so close, it's just one more reason to get together! After a while we got tired and full, and decided to head home so that santa could bring the kids their toys!

Christmas Day I slept in till about 930, when Casey couldn't wait any long to give me his surprise! We walked downstairs where I found this darling little dresser, that he had re-painted, and lined the drawers with, for all my jewelry! I'm so lucky I have him, he is so good at doing things like this and I absolutly love it!! What's even more cute is that there was a little surprise in each drawer for me! In the first drawer were 2 pairs of sunglasses, a cute pair just to wear, and another pair for when I road bike in the spring. In the second drawer I found some sweet Skull Candy pink and black headphones for my Ipod, in the 3rd I found a really nice Ipod player, since my hello kitty one got broke, he knew I needed a new one! And in the last drawer I found my coat that we had bought for "Christmas" that I have already been wearing since november, so I thought that was pretty funny!
Then he opened the presents I gave him, whice were some nice new shirts and ties for work, and lots of money, because he's super hard to shop for! After that at about 11 we got ready and headed to the Jorgensen's again for a little get together with Casey's grandparents, and Aunt Susie and her kids. We played a really fun white elaphant game where I got some lotion, and Casey recieve 5 dollors! And then exchanged gifts with each other. Casey and I got some movie passes from Kira and Corey, money from his grandparents, and a really pretty temple portrait that is now hanging in our living room! We hung out there all day and ate some brunch, and then later watched a movie, and I have course had to get the popcorn machine going, because any of you who know me know that I'm in love with popcorn! I ended up falling asleep, and don't we all have to take a nap on Christmas day? After our fun festivities there, we went up to my parents for Christmas dinner, and yet more prime rib! But that's ok becuase we like it! After another great feast we exchanged more gifts where all four kids got portable DVD players for our cars from my parents, which was pretty awesome! My mom got me a darling pea coat, and my dad got me and my sisters some bear paw boots! We got some other great gifts, and finished the night off playing a new rad game my dad got called Boppit! We had so much fun with both families, and are so blessed to have them both, and to be so close! Hope you all had a safe and happy holiday! Happy New Year!!

We have all been friends since high school, and we are all busy with our personal lives, we are all married now, and Kacee is a mom, but we do try and make it a point to get together every year for a little Christmas get together. We really should get together more ofter, becuase I just love these girls, but you get busy, and life happens. But I'm really glad we got together this year! Love you girls!

Thanksgiving & Vegas!

This year for Thanksgiving, it was my parents' turn to have us over, so we went over around 1:00 for a yummy feast!! My assignment was the Cheese ball, and I make a mean Cheese ball! It was gone by the end of the night, but I also decided that I would try and make a Pumpkin Pie. I found one on Pillsbury.com that had cream cheese in it, and needless to say, it too was gone by the end of the night! It was so good! Best pumpkin pie I have ever had, and Casey love love loved it too!! Every year as a tradition, we all go around the table as we're eating and say what we're thanksful for, and everyone's response is usually that they are thankful for the family and friends, jobs, a home. And I truely am grateful for all those things, and for a caring and considerate husband, who works so hard to get me the things I need and want, and for my cute little dog, he's like my baby, so I'm glad to have him! hehe! I feel like I didnt' eat that much, but I was uncomfortably full the rest of the day, so after dinner, we all kind of just laid around, hung out, made some bracelets, and I painted some letter blocks to sell at the Child and Family Support Center, that was this last saturday, I wasn't able to make it becuase I was in Vegas, but they made lot's of money for the nursery center, that has had over 3,000 children admitted, here in logan. That is a lot of kids in one year, to be taken away from their abusive, or druggy, or rapist parents. So think of them this Holiday season if you are feeling Charitable!

I didn't get any pictures of thanksgiving, I remembered the camera, but Casey forgot to take the SD card out of the computer, so no pictures! But I did get some pictures of Vegas!

This year Casey's company decided to take all their employees, and their spouses to Las Vegas, they paid for the flight, hotel room, a show and two dinners! We went on thursday morning at 7, which was very hard for me to wake up, but I did it, only to find that when we got to the airport, our flight was delayed 2 hours. So we sat around, ate some yougurt and fruit, did some people watching, and came to find that there are alot of older ladies who don't realize their bellies are hanging out, or they just think that they are hot, I'm not sure, but we saw quite a few of those! When we finally got to Las Vegas, we couldn't check into our rooms till four, and we got there at about 1 or 1:30, so even though we were all extremely tired, and could use a nap, we checked our bags and headed to New York New York for some lunch, where we found some mexican food, that wasn't that great. After that we had a few hours to kill, so we walked around the strip, doing the usual m&m and cocacola factories, checked out some shops that kind of thing. When it was time to go back to the hotel, they gave us a half an hour to get ready for the Blue Man Group. At this point I'm exhausted, but go get ready anyways, no time to wind down, and I decide to wear the worst and most cute shoes imaginable. I took it as the show being right across the street, but no, it was way down on the other end of the strip. I had blisters by the time we got to the buffet, and then more walking to the show. My feet hurt so incredibly bad, I didn't know if I was going to make it back! Poor Casey kept giving me piggy backs, but finally I just said the hell with it, and took the shoes off. Blue Man Group was seriously an awesome show, and so not what I was expecting. Everything about it was so random, and crazy, but I loved it, and if any of you have a chance to see it, see it! After the show we were so exhausted, we just went to the hotel, and totally zonked out cold! I know, we're old and boring, but so so very tired! The next day, we had a breakfast buffet, that also wasn't that great, I'm not a breakfast person, but it still wasn't that great. We spent the day shopping, and at the arcade, and then saw Nathan Burton's comedy magic show, he's the guy that one America's Got Talent, and we got to meet him after the show. He wasn't that funny, but his tricks were awesome, and we just couldn't figure them out! After the show, we got to go to my most favorite place to eat, P.F. Changs! I got my favorites, Mongolian Beef, and of course the Lettuce Wraps! We got take out, and headed back to our Hotel room at the Monte Carlo, and ate our yummy food! After that we sat a while and let our food settle, then headed to the arcades once more, becuase that is Casey's favorite thing to do in Vegas! We didn't really do too much, because we were a little low on funds, but it was fun to be somewhere different, and do whatever we wanted for a few days. All in all it was fun, and we appreciated the free trip! But I'm always glad to be home. Even if it is colder here! It was funny to see all the people bundled up in the 60 degree weather, and it felt good to us, since we came from negative number weather! Hope you all have a fun and safe holiday!

Craziness!

So I really really really love October, and Halloween is my favorite holiday! I just love the colors, and pumpkins, and decorations!! I think I started decorating a week before it was even october, and I'm not sick of it yet!! Casey's mom, Sandy and I have been making those really cute outdoor ladder crafts, (more like she makes them, I paint!) but they have been super fun to put in front of my condo by my door, becuase there is only so much I can put out there.
Work for me has been good, but occasionally stressful, I am working with a student who has been there for a while, but this is my first year being his personal aide, and just imagine being with a 17 year old 4 year old. Mentally he is totally 4 years old, and just imagine question after question, even the same question 4 times in a row, all day long..... Some days are very, very long. He is a great kid though, and can be super funny at times, just mentally exhausting! I just tell myself that he is teaching me patience, and by the time I have kids, maybe I will be more patient and mature. And I also have to remind myself that he didn't choose to be that way, and hardly notices how much he talks of how exhausting he is, but I think it is good for me!
Casey's job is going good, but he is also stressed. I've just got him to start going to Yoga classes with me, becuase we are both so stressed by the time we get home, we just need something to calm us down, and release the stress the builds up in our bodies. Our first class together was yesterday, and we both really enjoyed it, but we are both pretty sore! But a good sore!
To add to our stress, my wonderful Grandma Sharon about 2 or 3 weeks ago had her 2nd stint placed in her heart, to hopefully get her feeling better and on track. Well a few days after that, she started having chest pain, so her and my mom went into the E.R. and had some tests done. Everything was negative,(which is good) so they wanted to transfer her to Mckay Dee Hospital in Ogden just to keep an eye on her and do some more tests, becuase nothing was seriously wrong... yet. On her way down to the hospital in the ambulance that was transfering her, her anxiety began to go up, which then made her lungs start to fill up, so then she couldn't breath. The E.M.T.s job is to get that person there alive, so they had to put a ventillator down her throat to breath for her. When she got to the E.R. things were not looking good. The Doctors told my mom and her siblings to gather our family, probably to come say our goodbyes. At about midnight on saturday, I got a text from my dad saying "you should come down, things are not looking good, come say your goodbye". Immediatly I started to cry. Every other time my Grandma has gone to the hospital, (which has been alot!) I have been so sure that she would pull out of it, and make it, there was never a doubt that she wouldn't make it, but this time I just felt my heart sink, and I was sick to my stomache. I wasn't ready for her to go. Kylee was sleeping over at my house that night, so her Casey and I headed down to the hospital and got there around 1. When we got there we joined my family in the ICU waiting room. I wasn't sure what to think when I went in and saw her. All I know is I never want to see her like that again. She was sedated, but I made sure to tell her that I loved her, but it was too hard to say goodbye, so I didn't. I was glad to be there for my mom, because she was having a really hard time. We then found out, that she could possibly pull out of it and maybe be ok. They wanted to wait a few days till they took out the ventillator, so that they could stablize her. We went home at about 2:30 a.m. feeling a little better that she may pull out and be ok. A few days later they took about the ventillator that was breathing for her, and almost immediatly her lungs began to fill again, and she couldn't breath, so they put it right back in, and sedated her. This was not a good sign. My sisters and I went down to visit her when they were going to try and take out the ventillator again, and we were able to go into her room while she was awake, but she wasn't able to talk. Amanda and I went in and she opened her eyes, and I wouldn't have cried if Amanda hadn't started to! But poor grandma with her eyes told us not to cry, and that she needed her nails done! Leave it to her to try and be humorous at a time like this! She made it clear that she didn't want the tube put back in, should her lungs fill again. She was ready to go, and we were not at all ready to let her! So we went down thinking that would be the last time we saw our grandma alive, since it hadn't worked the first time they pulled it out. When they pulled it out, Thank the Lord, she could breath! She was alive and staying here!! She later told us that nobody wanted her! WE want her, that's why she's still here! Even if she did want to go, she's staying, and I couldn't be happier! It was just such a terrible experiance, and I have never lost someone close to me, so it really opened my eyes to what people go through when they lose someone they love, and I know one day will come when she does go, but she's here for a reason, and it makes me want to spend more time with her, becuase we almost lost her. She is doing well so far, they transfered her to Sunshine Terrice Rehab, so she isn't living there, just getting stable and stronger. Glad your still here Grammy! I love you!!

Lake Powell

A couple of weekends ago Casey and I enjoyed a mini vacation with his parents, and little sister Teneille! We took Casey's Parent's boat and tent trailor down and had so much fun! The first night we got there, I conveinently caught a cold and rode the whole way with a tissue up my nose fast asleep in the passenger seat. We got down there around 6ish, set up camp, and went for a fun little spin in the boat so Casey could wake-board. After that it was around 9 and we found a pretty good burger place. As soon as we bought cold medicine and tissues, and went back to camp it was off to bed for me! I woke up feeling much better and we set off once more for a day long boat ride! It was so much fun, we spent the day going through all the neat little canyons in Escalante. I had never been to Lake Powell before, so it was very, very cool to see all the canyons. We stopped in one little canyon with a shore and some trees, and let Scooter releive himself, then jumped in the water to cool off. We spent some time there hanging out, swimming and jumping off rocks! Everyone also spent some time water skiing, and wakeboarding but me, I have no interest in it, I was content sitting in front of the boat with my Scoots! That day we also had a chance to visit Hole-In-The-Rock and hike up the crevice, where 80 wagons and nearly 250 men, women, and children moved down. They removed much of the crevice so that the wagons could fit through, and carved stairs so that everyone could pass safely. In some places you can still see the stairs they carved. There were many huge boulders, that really took some work to get over and under but we made it! On the way down Casey and I had to pass Scooter to each other a couple times, and I thought to myself that that was probably what they did with the children that was in that company. It was a neat experiance, and I'm glad we experianced it.

Day two we did much of the same thing, drove around in the boat, skiing, wakeboarding, swimming, jumping off cliffs, and then found some really cool Indian ruins in Forgotten Canyon. It was another hot hike, but at the top of the cliff we found hieroglyphics, and some "houses" they lived in. Some were build right into the wall and you could go inside. I really love that kind of stuff, and had alot of fun exploring the huts. Casey and I took scooter into the underground one, not so sure he like it! But it was super fun, and we really enjoyed ourselves.

We decided to pack up and leave Saturday night and stay in some town I can't even remember the name of, but it was about half way to Salt Lake, where on Sunday afternoon Casey and I had to meet my family for the Broadway The Lion King. Casey was not so excited about this, but I think after seeing it, he has a different oppinion of it now, although he probably won't go to another one. The tuesday before on the 14th was my dad's birthday so after the show we went to his favorite restaurant Famous Dave's and ate a yummy dinner! As soon as Casey and I got home we crashed. It was a super fun weekend, but very, very long!

Last weekend, Chelsie and I had a little Baby Shower for our good friend Kalei, who is having a little boy! It was a pretty casual shower, and we just ate food, and caught up! It was alot of fun, and Kalei got some really cute things for her baby!

Guns and Hoses!

Casey and I bought new mountain bikes this last week, becuase biking is somthing we really love to do together, and up until now we have only had road bikes, and have been wanted to get mountain bikes forever, just for a little change of scenery. So we decided to try them out! Turns out I'm really not quite used to the mountain bikes, I've been riding a road bike for the last two years, and really struggled with my mountain bike and the rough trail we went on. I enjoyed it however, and will have to keep trying!

Our sweet bikes!
Last night the Child and Family Support Center held it's annual Guns and Hoses Softball Tournament, where a few teams of Police officers play a few teams of Fire fighters in softball for a traveling trophy, and to which all the proceeds go to the center. My whold family came to support the cause, Casey got to play 3 games on the Center's team, and I got to sell concessions with Kylee and Melissa, who is in the circle of friends with me. Unfortunatly it was the same night as the Aggie game so not as many people came to the event, but it was still alot of fun, and I'm happy to be apart of the Circle of Friends, and to be able to take part in helping the center raise money. And just to let you all know we will be having a race on October 9th, called the Trick or Treat Trot, there will be a 10k, 5k, and 1 mile, and also a costume contest! So come run, wear a costume and support the cause!! Contact me, or go online to Al's sporting goods to register for the race, it's going to be alot of fun!!!

What we've been up to!

A couple weeks ago Casey and I went to Bear Lake with one of Casey's best friends Kevin, and his wife Lyndie. It was so much fun to get out of the vally and just relax on the beach. We ate sandwiches, and made some fun things out of the sand, and went swimming. After our day at the beach, of course we had to get our raspberrie shakes before we left Bear Lake. Next to the little place we got our shakes was a fun little antique shop with a board painted as jail characters where you can stick your face in the holes, so naturally we had to take a few pictures! All in all it was a fun day!

Last week Chelsie and I drove to salt lake so that we could meet our friend Kalei for lunch and a little shopping! It was so fun because we don't get to see Kalei very often now that she lives in Santaquin with her Husband Dave. We decided to try a Mexican place called the Blue Iquana, and it was really good! We got to catch up, and talk about Kalei's pregnancy which was so fun to here about and I'm so happy for her that she is having a little boy! After our lunch we went to the Gateway for some shopping of course, you can't to go salt lake and not shop! So we checked out some of our favorite shops, and got some cute things!

I stole this pictures from Chels! Thanks Chels!

That friday Casey and I went camping with my family, I'm really mad at myself becuase I didn't take any pictures, but it was so much fun. My parents, Amanda and her boys came with her new boyfriend Corey came with his son Cade, who is just a year older than Wyatt so they had fun! And Jaydale and her boyfriend Chantry came up for a few hours for dinner. Casey and I hadn't been able to go camping all summer so I was so happy when we finally had some time to go! We took Casey's parents motorcycles, and I'm pretty rad at riding! My dad took his ranger and Corey took is 4 wheeler, so we rode around alot, and had a blast!

Saturday Casey ran in the Top of Utah Half Marathon, and took 75th over all, and there were over 2000 runners, so I was a pretty proud wifey! He hurt his knee on the last mile, so didn't finish as fast as he wanted to, but he still did great, and I'm proud of him! He didn't think it was all that fun, and still can't beleive how people do the full marathon. He says maybe one day he'll do one, but not soon!!

Casey at the finish line!!

Cooling down!
