Lake Powell

A couple of weekends ago Casey and I enjoyed a mini vacation with his parents, and little sister Teneille! We took Casey's Parent's boat and tent trailor down and had so much fun! The first night we got there, I conveinently caught a cold and rode the whole way with a tissue up my nose fast asleep in the passenger seat. We got down there around 6ish, set up camp, and went for a fun little spin in the boat so Casey could wake-board. After that it was around 9 and we found a pretty good burger place. As soon as we bought cold medicine and tissues, and went back to camp it was off to bed for me! I woke up feeling much better and we set off once more for a day long boat ride! It was so much fun, we spent the day going through all the neat little canyons in Escalante. I had never been to Lake Powell before, so it was very, very cool to see all the canyons. We stopped in one little canyon with a shore and some trees, and let Scooter releive himself, then jumped in the water to cool off. We spent some time there hanging out, swimming and jumping off rocks! Everyone also spent some time water skiing, and wakeboarding but me, I have no interest in it, I was content sitting in front of the boat with my Scoots! That day we also had a chance to visit Hole-In-The-Rock and hike up the crevice, where 80 wagons and nearly 250 men, women, and children moved down. They removed much of the crevice so that the wagons could fit through, and carved stairs so that everyone could pass safely. In some places you can still see the stairs they carved. There were many huge boulders, that really took some work to get over and under but we made it! On the way down Casey and I had to pass Scooter to each other a couple times, and I thought to myself that that was probably what they did with the children that was in that company. It was a neat experiance, and I'm glad we experianced it.

Day two we did much of the same thing, drove around in the boat, skiing, wakeboarding, swimming, jumping off cliffs, and then found some really cool Indian ruins in Forgotten Canyon. It was another hot hike, but at the top of the cliff we found hieroglyphics, and some "houses" they lived in. Some were build right into the wall and you could go inside. I really love that kind of stuff, and had alot of fun exploring the huts. Casey and I took scooter into the underground one, not so sure he like it! But it was super fun, and we really enjoyed ourselves.

We decided to pack up and leave Saturday night and stay in some town I can't even remember the name of, but it was about half way to Salt Lake, where on Sunday afternoon Casey and I had to meet my family for the Broadway The Lion King. Casey was not so excited about this, but I think after seeing it, he has a different oppinion of it now, although he probably won't go to another one. The tuesday before on the 14th was my dad's birthday so after the show we went to his favorite restaurant Famous Dave's and ate a yummy dinner! As soon as Casey and I got home we crashed. It was a super fun weekend, but very, very long!

Last weekend, Chelsie and I had a little Baby Shower for our good friend Kalei, who is having a little boy! It was a pretty casual shower, and we just ate food, and caught up! It was alot of fun, and Kalei got some really cute things for her baby!

Guns and Hoses!

Casey and I bought new mountain bikes this last week, becuase biking is somthing we really love to do together, and up until now we have only had road bikes, and have been wanted to get mountain bikes forever, just for a little change of scenery. So we decided to try them out! Turns out I'm really not quite used to the mountain bikes, I've been riding a road bike for the last two years, and really struggled with my mountain bike and the rough trail we went on. I enjoyed it however, and will have to keep trying!

Our sweet bikes!
Last night the Child and Family Support Center held it's annual Guns and Hoses Softball Tournament, where a few teams of Police officers play a few teams of Fire fighters in softball for a traveling trophy, and to which all the proceeds go to the center. My whold family came to support the cause, Casey got to play 3 games on the Center's team, and I got to sell concessions with Kylee and Melissa, who is in the circle of friends with me. Unfortunatly it was the same night as the Aggie game so not as many people came to the event, but it was still alot of fun, and I'm happy to be apart of the Circle of Friends, and to be able to take part in helping the center raise money. And just to let you all know we will be having a race on October 9th, called the Trick or Treat Trot, there will be a 10k, 5k, and 1 mile, and also a costume contest! So come run, wear a costume and support the cause!! Contact me, or go online to Al's sporting goods to register for the race, it's going to be alot of fun!!!

What we've been up to!

A couple weeks ago Casey and I went to Bear Lake with one of Casey's best friends Kevin, and his wife Lyndie. It was so much fun to get out of the vally and just relax on the beach. We ate sandwiches, and made some fun things out of the sand, and went swimming. After our day at the beach, of course we had to get our raspberrie shakes before we left Bear Lake. Next to the little place we got our shakes was a fun little antique shop with a board painted as jail characters where you can stick your face in the holes, so naturally we had to take a few pictures! All in all it was a fun day!

Last week Chelsie and I drove to salt lake so that we could meet our friend Kalei for lunch and a little shopping! It was so fun because we don't get to see Kalei very often now that she lives in Santaquin with her Husband Dave. We decided to try a Mexican place called the Blue Iquana, and it was really good! We got to catch up, and talk about Kalei's pregnancy which was so fun to here about and I'm so happy for her that she is having a little boy! After our lunch we went to the Gateway for some shopping of course, you can't to go salt lake and not shop! So we checked out some of our favorite shops, and got some cute things!

I stole this pictures from Chels! Thanks Chels!

That friday Casey and I went camping with my family, I'm really mad at myself becuase I didn't take any pictures, but it was so much fun. My parents, Amanda and her boys came with her new boyfriend Corey came with his son Cade, who is just a year older than Wyatt so they had fun! And Jaydale and her boyfriend Chantry came up for a few hours for dinner. Casey and I hadn't been able to go camping all summer so I was so happy when we finally had some time to go! We took Casey's parents motorcycles, and I'm pretty rad at riding! My dad took his ranger and Corey took is 4 wheeler, so we rode around alot, and had a blast!

Saturday Casey ran in the Top of Utah Half Marathon, and took 75th over all, and there were over 2000 runners, so I was a pretty proud wifey! He hurt his knee on the last mile, so didn't finish as fast as he wanted to, but he still did great, and I'm proud of him! He didn't think it was all that fun, and still can't beleive how people do the full marathon. He says maybe one day he'll do one, but not soon!!

Visiting Friends!!

This last weekend Casey and I drove up to Laramie Wyoming to visit one of my best friends, Jesika and her husband Lane! Jesika and I met when we were both working at Mt. Crest, and hit it off as great friends! They moved to Laramie about a year and a half ago, and I haven't really seen them since, except for the occasional lunch when they are just passing through town. So I thought it would be fun going to them instead of them coming to us! The drive was not so fun however! Really quite boring, I had to pretend I was racing cars just to keep me awake! We left our house around 7 and made it there at about 1 am. The next morning we all got ready and drove to Denver. We walked around the street mall for a few hours, and then saw Dinner for Schmucks to kill some time before we went to see a Rockies game.
Jesika scored some really great seats right behind home plate the 3rd level up. Casey was just like a little kid at the game, he was so excited! And it was a really great game, we had so much fun!
After the game we drove back to Laramie, everyone was super tired so we all just went to bed. The next morning we went to church, and came back and ate an awesome meal that Jesika whipped up! (Better send me that recipe!) After we ate, Casey and I decided to leave so that we wouldn't get home too late, I wish we could have stayed longer, and even though it was a quick trip, it was so much fun, and so good to see Jesika and Lane! Thanks for letting us come up you guys! Love ya!

Bear Lake and Bees

Another busy weekend for us! Casey finally finished his grandma's roof, so on Friday we set out for Bear lake with my sisters and the kids! We got to bear lake around 2, and stayed for a few hours on the beach. We stopped at the store before we drove up and got lots of snacks, drinks, and items for sandwiches! We had such a fun time playing in the water! Casey played in the water with the kids, with the huge floaty toys my mom bought for the kids, and I got my tan on! The boys played so hard! They just loved running around, playing in the sand and in the water! It was fun to watch them!! I'm glad we all got to go together!

As soon and Casey got up, Scooter was right there in his spot!!
Saturday we really wanted to go camping, but I don't think anyone really wanted to go over Pioneer day weekend, but we did get invited to another Bee's game with one of Casey's best friends, Kevin and his wife Lyndie. I wasn't all that thrilled to go to another bee's game so quick, but this one was ok because it had the Fireworks after the game, and we were right under them, so it was tons of fun! And my honey was so good to me before the game, we walked around the Gateway, and he bought me and pair of pants and a shirt, and didn't complain about it at all! After we went shopping, we ate dinner at the California Pizza Kitchen, and then continued on to the game. At first it was so swealtering hot! But was so nice when the sun went down! We also ran into our good friends Tom and Sam at the game, it was so fun to see them! We had a good time together, and I'm happy to be spending some time with my sweetheart, since he has been so busy I feel like I hardly see him, so all this time together is awesome!!

Caves, Baseball, and Mom's 50th

Well last weekend was a busy one for me and Casey! Casey has been working so hard these last couple of weeks, he goes to work at the office, comes home and goes straight to his Grandma Jorgensen's to re-do her roof, coming home at 9 or 930, so he has been putting in very long hours! But while he works, I work a little, and then play alot! Last week I took my niece Kylee, and my nephew Wyatt hiking up to the Wind Caves up Logan Canyon. It was Wyatt's first time hiking, and he hated it at first, but once we got to the top he loved it! He thought it was like the coolest thing ever, he didn't want to leave. I guess it was a little learning experiance for him, that work can be hard, but in the end it's worth it!

Friday night on the 16th, we went down to Salt lake to the bee's game with our friends Holly and J'Dee, and picked Tom and Sam up on the way, and met Kraig and Kourtney there with their cute little baby boy! We had such a good time catching up, and not really watching the game! After the game we all felt like we needed some ice cream so we went to Baskin Robbins, and I ate a yummy American Birthday Cake flavored ice cream! Casey and I had a blast and hope we can get together again soon!!

Saturday I spent the day with my sisters getting last minute preparations for our mom's surprise 50th birthday party the following day. We had to pick up 65 balloons, which was pretty fun packing into our cars!

Finally Sunday, the day we had long prepared for was finally here! But first Casey and I had to attend Derick "Bubba" Pond's mission farewell, his older sister Kalei is a dear friend of mine (and she is also pregnant, I'm so excited for her and Dave!!!), and I haven't seen her in so long, so we finally got to get together and visit! Bubba's talk was really great, and he was about to make Chelsie and I cry! It was such a fun time, and Kalei, and kalei's mom Julie, and whoever else that helped, made a yummy lunch for all who attended!

We held my mom's party at a neighbors barn with a large loft, and decorated the theme as a Black and White party. We also put on the invitations (Which my very good friend Chelsie designed so amazingly!! Don't know what we would have done without her!!) That everyone please wear only black and white! Which everyone did! It looked so awesome and classy! My mom wore pink so that she stuck out, and so many people came to wish her a Happy 50th, I think she had a really great time!! We had also made a movie for her, and instead just interviewing people like we've done in the past, I had the idea of acting out in skits recreated all of my mom's quirky little sayings, and it turned out so funny, when we watched we were all laughing so hard that we were crying! Happy 50th mom!!
